2014 China Public Holiday Policy

Beijing (Xinhua) — The Chinese government on Wednesday unveiled holiday arrangements for 2014. There will be 11 days off for major holidays, according to a statement released by the State Council, the Cabinet. New Year's Day of 2014, will be a one day holiday on Wednesday, according to the plan. This year's Spring Festival, China's most important festival for family reunions, will run from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6, the statement said.
China has seven legal holidays in a year, including New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, May Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and National Day.

1. New Year's Day: January 1, 2014. One day.
2. Spring Festival: January 31 - February 6, 2014. Totally 7 days. On duty at Jan 26 (Sunday), Feb 8 (Saturday).
3. Tomb-sweeping Day: April 5 - April 6. Take deferred holidays on April 7.
4. May Day: May 1 – May 3. Work begin at May 4 (Sunday).
5. Dragon Boat Festival: June 2, together with weekend.
6. Mid-autumn Festival: Sep.8, together with weekend
7. Nation Day: Oct. 1- Oct.7. On duty at Sep.28(Sunday), Oct.11(Saturday).
